6/5/06 Inspire for Life updates
- We are going to do a very unique fundraiser. It involves the local police
department, local restaurants, people wanting to help to raise the money. Whom
ever is raising the money the police will go to wherever they are and bring
them to the restaurant and they have to stay there until they reach there bail
amount. If you want to help with the bail amount fundraiser, email us.
- The other fundraiser that we are doing is having a benefit dinner for the
foundation and all the money will go towards raising disability awareness. And
at the dinner have a silent auction and get local venders to donate. If
you want to help with the benefit dinner fundraiser, email us.

- I want to personally thank the Crockett Foundation for donating to The
William W. Picard Inspire for Life Foundation. With out their financial help I
could not do these presentations.
- I just sign on the doted line to get a new laptop, monitor and projector from
VR which I have been working on for the past year. Now I can use PowerPoint, a presentation program,
and project it on a wall.
6/3/05 Inspire for Life updates
- Many friends, businesses, and other Foundations have been asking when
the Inspire for Life organization would obtain its 501(c)(3) status. Our
counsel tells us that it could take as long as two years for the IRS to
approve an organization's charitable 501(c)(3) status. To solve this
uncertainty and to help move things forward we have set up Inspire For Life as
a public Foundation under The National Heritage Foundation umbrella. The
William W. Picard Inspire For Life Foundation becomes a nonprofit 501(c)(3),
509(a)(1) under the National Heritage Foundation, and shares its federal tax
status (Tax Identification Number 58-2085326). By creating a Foundation under
The National Heritage Foundation's umbrella your donations to our efforts
qualify as charitable contributions to a public Foundation.

- This web site is universally accessible because:
- Made out of tables not frames making it screen reader friendly
- Long links because people can set their screen reader to read
only the links
- ALT tags which is a
pop up window, when you put the mouse over a picture it gives you the text
version that conveys the information shown on the logo
- No font size however, the user can
make the font bigger by clicking the view drop down menu on the Microsoft
Internet Explorer tool bar and selecting text size
- Added my portfolio with pictures to the
Inspire for Life web site to give prospective clients more information on what
I do.

- Our accountant Keith H. Allen sent the IRS paper work for the 501(c)(3)
status today.
I hope everyone had a great Martin Luther King
day!
"On some positions, Cowardice asks the question, "Is it safe?"
Expediency asks the question, "Is it politic?" And Vanity comes
along and asks the question, "Is it popular?" But Conscience asks
the question "Is it right?" And there comes a time when one must
take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he
must do it because Conscience tells him it is right."

- All of the board members have signed the papers for the lawyer (Paul
Fournier) files. His part is done so I have to pay him because Inspire for
Life does not have any money right now.
- I emailed our accountant a couple weeks ago with the articles of
incorporation and bylaws in a attachment. He is going to do the paper work for the IRS. After he sends
it in
it usually takes six months to a year.
- I met with the Assistant Superintendent (Thomas Morrill) and OLT
Co-Director (Dan Cifelli) of Auburn on 12/20/04 to talk about
Inspire for Life's school
programs. I think they thought the program was interesting but they wanted
to think about it.
- We are looking for grants and different ways to raise money. So
when the IRS papers comes back we will be ready to mail out grants.
- I attended the Many and One Coalition's 2nd annual L/A Celebrate:
Community, Diversity & Justice Multicultural Festival on Saturday
January 15, 2005. Local and state organizations will have informational
tables set up during the event to share their programs and events with the
public. This event is the kick-off for the Two weeks of Community, Diversity &
Justice January 15 through 31, 2005.
- I hope your holidays were wonderful!
