Local comedian Picard focuses on funny side of life 07/06

To Whom It May Concern,

On Wednesday April 16th, our Campus Activities Team (CAT) sponsored comedian Bill Picard as part of their comedy series. The show was a huge hit with our student-body! Initially students were caught off-guard by Bill as they weren’t expecting him to be as funny as he actually was. They were surprised at his humor, which at times even poked fun at himself. His comedy is extremely unique in comparison to other comedians featured by the college. Our students not only found him hilariously funny but were educated on what it means to have a disability. By the end of the show they had a new found appreciation for him and his style of comedy.

Because of his disability at first students did not know if it was ok to laugh, however by the end of the show we could not get them to stop. I would highly recommend him to any college looking for a comedian who without even realizing is able to educate students’ awareness of those with disabilities. If you have never seen his show, you are missing out. He is one of the most interesting, unique and funny comedians I have ever seen. He was able to draw a huge audience at Mount Ida and sustain it for the entire show. I as well as students were impressed by him and I strongly encourage anyone interested in a comedian brining him to their campus.

Sincerely,
Heidi McLore, M.A.
